The Recovery Process
Steps
Firstly please take time to identify the system, device, media or other
component from which the data has been 'lost'. The resources section
includes a database of more commonly known items. Alternatively, browse through the various
help sections on systems, hard disk drives,
memory cards, removable media,
and other data storage related components to help identify the item more clearly and
whether the Group offers appropriate services.
Secondly, request that CONTENTENGINEER undertake an initial diagnosis
of the component by downloading the
CONTENTENGINEER
Data Recovery Guide
, the CONTENTENGINEER Hard Disk Removal Guide;
and
the CONTENTENGINEER Shipping Label or by
telephoning the
Group's 24x7 contact number: 0707-RECOVER [0707-7326837].
For the majority of cases
the Group can send out special protective packaging for the component, ready for secure
and tracked delivery by
Royal Mail Special Delivery to the Group's recovery centre.
The completion of diagnosis will usually happen in less than 24 hours of receipt of the component.
Alternatively, the Group does offer onsite diagnosis for highly sensitive data whereby the
Expert will attend Client site for initial diagnosis, analysis and data extraction (where
possible). However, there may be instances where the component needs to be recovered in the
event of physical damage or where highly specialised equipment needs to be used as part of
the recovery process.

Thirdly, having been advised of the diagnosis, choose to have the component
returned in protective packaging again by Royal Mail Special Delivery,
or proceed to the next stage of data recovery
for which a detailed estimate will have been provided.
Finally, the Client receives the recovered data by email, ftp server,
CD, DVD, replacement hard disk or USB pluggable hard disk unit. The overall process from
initial diagnosis to recovery of data can
be completed in a 48-72 hours or 24 hours if an emergency response is requested.
